Summary
The Janitor is responsible for safely performing duties related to maintaining a consistent, high level of cleanliness and order in all areas of the facility. This employee hired will have the ability to work alone and effectively prioritize multiple tasks throughout the day, along with working within the team to support employee events and projects. This position reports to the Maintenance Manager.
Essential Duties
Specific responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
• Ability to communicate effectively with team members and respond to changes in daily tasks as needed
• Clean and sanitize all common areas, such as conference rooms and bathrooms
• Daily vacuuming, mopping and/or scrubbing floors
• Restock supplies in bathrooms and kitchen areas, such as soap, toilet paper, and paper towels
• Clean and sanitize sinks, countertops, microwaves, and refrigerators
• Empty all trash cans and replace liners and cleaning receptacles as needed
• Dusting and cleaning office desk and furniture
• Cleaning windows, window-seals and walls at appropriate times
• Maintain janitorial closets in a clean, organized, and safe manner
• Maintain janitorial equipment in a clean, safe, and operable condition
• Proper labeling, dilution, and use of cleaning chemicals
• Safe clean up of spills with appropriate equipment as necessary
• Performs other housekeeping duties as assigned

• The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.

• While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, walk, and use hands and fingers to handle or feel objects, tools, or controls.
• The employee frequently is required to talk or hear. The employee is required to reach with hands and arms, stoop, kneel, or crouch, climb industrial ladders and steps, twist and bend.
• The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
• The employee occasionally works in locations at heights and above the floor level on catwalks and/or stairs, and is exposed seasonally to hot and cold weather.
• The noise level in parts of the work environment requires hearing protection.

• High School diploma or GED (General Education Diploma)
• Successful, prior janitorial experience is required
• Ability to communicate, both written, and orally, in English is required
