Job Description
Job Summary:
Responsible for engineering disciplines in order to support a manufacturing facility. This can include facility design, utility analysis, mechanical design, refining production processes, and working close with other team members such as Flexco Engineers, skilled trades, contractors, and production employees, to manage project development. Also responsible for managing all aspects of projects assigned by upper management. Requires the ability to design and specify dies and molds consistent with the rubber and vinyl industry. Communication with the management, sales and marketing teams is essential to meet organizational goals. This position is highly skilled and requires expertise and knowledge in multiple areas within engineering.
Essential Functions:
- Supporting Maintenance from a hand on Technical/Teaching level (50%)
- Direct or coordinate manufacturing, construction, installation, maintenance, support, documentation, or testing activities to ensure compliance with specifications, codes, or customer requirements (25%).
- Design, implement, maintain, or improve electrical instruments, equipment, facilities, components, products, or systems for commercial or industrial purposes (25%).
- Operate computer-assisted engineering or design software or equipment to perform engineering tasks (20%).
- Prepare technical reports and cost estimates for management (10%).
- Interact with other Flexco Engineers, skilled trades, and production employees to manage all project development (10%).
- Managing all aspects of projects assigned by upper management (5%).
- Other projects as assigned (5%).
Education, Experience, and Qualifications:
- Excellent organizational skills, communication, and interpersonal skills
- Excellent judgment for engineering analysis and project management techniques
- Detail-oriented, capable of meeting deadlines, working both independently and with others
- Knowledge of mathematics, and mechanical knowledge
- High level of creativity, critical thinking and complex problem solving
- Meet or exceed all items listed in the experience and education, and equipment and materials sections.
- Prefer bachelor’s degree in mechanical or electrical engineering.
- Minimum of 4 years engineering experience
- Proficient in CAD, blueprints layout and Rockwell PLC
- Proficient with computers and electronics
- Skilled trades hand tools and machines

With regard to environmental conditions, the following conditions and percentages represent an estimate of the exposure to environmental conditions as individuals perform the essential functions of the position during a normal workday, week, month, or year. “Usual office conditions” that are climate controlled (50%), inside or outside conditions that offer no protection from seasonal climate temperature variations (50%) where an individual is susceptible to Dust (50%), Heat (30%), and Dirt, Odors, Fumes, and Noise (20%).
