This person will serve as a leader within the manufacturing environment, playing a pivotal role in the development and optimization of costing models, inventory controls and master data clean-up. They will also drive timely and accurate reporting for this growing manufacturing organization. As the Plant Controller, you will collaborate with cross-functional teams to optimize processes, reduce costs, supervise & mentor your team, and ensure compliance with GAAP. This position is located in the East Tampa area, and would be a great fit for either an experienced Plant Controller, or someone ready to take the next step up in their career. Plant Controller Job Duties:
- Analyze discrepancies to uncover opportunities for enhancement and cost-efficiency.
- Develop SOP’s and standard costing models within manufacturing environment
- Build costing models and implement inventory controls
- Perform data clean-up and revamp ERP reporting
- Implement controls to refine manufacturing processes and minimize resource wastage.
- Drive the development of performance metrics for continuous improvement.
- Establish product cost standards and monitor actual expenses.
- Employ data analysis tools for insightful reporting to management.
- Ensure ERP system precision for accurate financial tracking.
- Conduct regular inventory checks to maintain precision.
- Foster teamwork across departments to meet company objectives.
- Provide financial guidance to aid decision-making.
- Keep abreast of industry trends and regulations for informed insights.
- Assist with diverse special projects as required.
Plant Controller Skills/Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
- 5+ years of experience with manufacturing/distribution/CPG industry exposure
- Previous leadership experience and proficiency in a large ERP system required
- Knowledge in utilizing data visualization / reporting tools
- Strong understanding of variance analysis, process controls and inventory management
- Ability to thrive in fast-paced, ever-evolving environments
- Excellent written and verbal communication
- Proficient in MS Office and Excel (advanced usage a must)
- Excellent analytical, teamwork, and leadership skills
- Strong planning and organization skills and understanding of the importance of deadlines
- Superb communication skills required
