Lockheed Martin Aeronautics is seeking a 2024 Summer Intern - Manufacturing Engineer (ME) within the Planning functional organization. The Planning organization translates Design Engineering and Manufacturing Engineering requirements into a Manufacturing Bill of Materials (MBOM) and manufacturing work instructions. Planning ME's support the creation of manufacturing work instructions, implementation of Engineering Change Notices, and management of the MBOM and type version effectivity to ensure alignment with Design and Manufacturing Engineering. Planning ME's have an integral role in Lockheed Martin Aeronautics' Digital Transformation using model-based engineering to drive the next generation Manufacturing Execution System.
A successful Planning ME candidate will:
• have a desire to learn, a continuous improvement attitude, a strong work ethic, demonstrated technical proficiency and capability, and strong communication skills - written and verbal;
• be self-motivated, detail-oriented and organized;
• be able to work collaboratively in a team-based environment across Aeronautics;
• be expected to participate and contribute in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
Must be a US Citizen. This position will require a government security clearance. This position is at a facility that requires special access.
Basic Qualifications
• Pursuing a Bachelor's degree in a technology-related degree plan, e.g., Manufacturing Engineering, Manufacturing Systems Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering Technology, Manufacturing & Mechanical Engineering Technology, Product Design and Manufacturing Engineering, Industrial Engineering Technology, or Aeronautics Engineering Technology, Automation and Systems Integration Engineering Technology, Digital Enterprise Systems, and Systems Engineering.
• Other degrees within consideration: Product Engineering and Assembly, Manufacturing Quality and Productivity, Manufacturing System Design, Process and Product Engineering, Manufacturing Process and Tool Engineering , and Industrial Engineering.
• Must be a US Citizen. This position will require a government security clearance. This position is located at a facility that requires special access.
Desired skills
• Member of the SME, SAE, ASME, or other similar technical organization
• Design, build club/project experience (i.e., SAE Formula and Baja)
• Familiarity with manufacturing and production operations processes
• Familiarity with Lean Manufacturing concepts
• Coding and data analysis skills

Work Schedule Information
Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed. These condensed schedules provide employees with additional time away from the office and are in addition to our Paid Time off benefits.
Colorado Pay Statement
Pay Rate:
The annual base salary range for this position in Colorado or Washington is $20,904 - $67,288 . Please note that the salary information is a general guideline only. Lockheed Martin considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate's work experience, education/ training, key skills as well as market and business considerations when extending an offer.
Benefits offered: Medical, Dental, Vision, Life Insurance, Short-Term Disability, Long-Term Disability, 401(k) match, Flexible Spending Accounts, EAP, Education Assistance, Parental Leave, Paid time off, and Holidays.
(Washington state applicants only) Non-represented full time employees: accrue 10 hours per month of Paid Time Off (PTO); receive 40 hours of Granted PTO annually for incidental absences; receive at least 90 hours for holidays. Represented full time employees accrue 6.67 hours of PTO per month; accrue up to 52 hours of sick leave annually; receive at least 96 hours for holidays. PTO is prorated based on hours worked and start date during the calendar year.
