The Planning Associate will be responsible for supporting the development of master planning, programming, and conceptual design documents and graphics. This position will require domestic and international travel to a variety of locations for hands-on work with clients. Examples of projects that the Planning Associate will support are: Transportation Plans, Area Development Plans, Strategic Execution Plans, Building and Site Conceptual Designs, and facility condition assessments.
- Possesses knowledge of planning principles, best practices, & techniques of planning.
- Utilizes written and graphic skills for developing and presenting planning reports and projects.
- Able to work independently as well as in multi-disciplinary teams.
- Serves as a facilitator during workshops.
- Performs a variety of tasks related to the collection, analysis, and interpretation of a variety of quantitative and qualitative data to prepare reports and maps.
- Conducts field evaluations and assessments.
- Assists the project manager and Senior Planner with team leadership and project execution.
- Researches requirements and standards.
Job Requirements
- Education: Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree Urban Planning, Landscape Architecture, or related field of study.
- Experience: Zero (0) to five (5) years’ job-related experience.
- Licensure/Certification: Ability to pursue AICP or RLA (Preferred)
- Must possess strong oral & written communication skills and have strong organizational & time management skills.
- Must be able to work both independently and as part of a project team.
- Must be proficient in public speaking, creating presentations, and delegation.
