Job Description Summary
Plans and schedules daily production of items manufactured in the Broken Bow Plant including finished goods, subassemblies for both Broken Bow and outside plants and raw materials to support the Plant performance commitments by volume and mix.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
The essential functions of this position include but are not limited to:
  • Prepares plans and initiates the daily production schedules of finished goods.
  • Plans raw materials to ensure that required parts are planned for purchase to meet the production schedule and monitors deliveries including expediting and delaying deliveries as required.
  • Creates production orders for all subassemblies and finished goods as required to meet the plant's shipping schedule.
  • Reviews change orders received from Division for issues (capacity, material availability, etc.) and recommends approval or denial of change orders to the Planning & Scheduling Facilitator.
  • Reviews material availability to schedule and notifies Purchasing and Production of anticipated shortages so the material can be expedited, if possible. Outlines a plan of action necessary to prevent shutdowns if shortages occur and presents them to Production Scheduling Team.
  • Expedites manufacturing orders for component parts as required to meet the finished goods schedule and achieve maximum Plant performance to schedule.
  • Monitors and follows up work-in-process in manufacturing departments to make sure work is moving according to schedule.
  • Works with Division planners, Production, and others to ensure that the appropriate finished goods items are being made to prevent/reduce items on backorder.
  • Plans and schedules all F.W.O.'s to get them running with the least interruption to normal production as possible.
  • Maintain material parameters in conjunction with Purchasing and Master Data to facilitate the needs of the production schedule (safety stock, lot size etc. and other SAP data).

OTHER RESPONSIBILITIES
Other responsibilities of this position include but are not limited to:
  • Complies with, and responsible for enforcing, all local, state, federal and BD safety regulations, policies/procedures.
  • Complies with all local BD quality policies/procedures/practices through consistent application of sound Quality Assurance principles. Ensures compliance through appropriate communication, training, and education of sound Quality Assurance principles. Responsible for the activities and programs as defined for this position in the Quality Systems Manual - BD Broken Bow.
  • Performs other job-related duties as assigned.

Minimum Requirements
  • Requires a minimum of a B.S. Degree or equivalent.
  • APICS certification preferred.

Preferred Experience
  • One to three years' experience in production scheduling and inventory control preferred.
  • Familiar with manufacturing, capacity analysis, inventory control, and data processing required.
  • Must have a working knowledge of MRP.
  • Must possess effective verbal and written communication skills.

  • Strong verbal, written, analytical, persuasion and interpersonal skills.

Equipment Use
  • Ability to manually operate a computer with a standard keyboard, a calculator, and the telephone system required.

  • Light Work: Exerting up to 20 pounds occasionally, and/or 10 pounds of force frequently, or negligible constantly. Walking or standing to a significant degree or sitting constantly and pushing/pulling controls.

  • The position is subject to inside environmental conditions typically associated with an office environment.
