Job Description:

 

This position requires a high level of interaction with engineering teams and operations while following required Procurement Policies and Procedures. This role is primarily responsible for tactical procurement and demand planning activities exercising business judgment to execute a comprehensive purchasing strategy resulting in superior cost, quality, and availability. The incumbent will have proven experience with eliminating shortages, inventory reduction, demand forecasting, materials and production planning, scheduling, lead time reduction, customer service improvement, material flow, pull systems and Kanban implementation and all aspects related to Resource and Operations Management and Supply Chain optimization.

 

Position Responsibilities:

         Manage relationships with key suppliers to maintain quality of goods, timely delivery, and compliance to terms of contracts (Minmax/Stocking programs).

         Effectively manage the planning and purchasing of material to support production requirements, creating deviations, implementing ECOs and expediting parts as necessary

         Monitor performances to the material plan, and take pro-active action to solve problems and mitigate risk in meeting customer requirements and inventory targets

         Use advanced planning tools to model, simulate, and release optimized material plans to the organization and in developing, planning and implementing the master schedule

         Participate in daily production and shop floor lines stoppage meetings

         Provide technical support on MRP problem identification and resolution

         Represent department and support New Product Development project requirements

         Participate in continuous improvement initiatives using LEAN tools (A3, PDCA, 5Why) that lead to measurable improvement in organizational objectives

         Support forecast process development to enhance organization's predictability

         Interface with design engineering, sourcing, production control, manufacturing assembly, receiving, logistics, quality, IT, and accounts payable

 

A successful candidate will have/possess:

         Has a customer centric mentality

         Strong analytical, organizational, time management and prioritization capabilities

         Proven negotiation skills

         Ability to work both independently and collaboratively

         Demonstrated record of achievement in a prior Supply Chain role

         Knowledge of the manufacturing process

         Familiarity with production control systems and routines

         Ability to effectively manage changing and conflicting priorities and resolve appropriately

         Effective interpersonal verbal and written communication skills

         Strong ERP systems user/knowledge of Oracle (or similar) and MS Office (Advanced Excel) applications

         Familiar with Kaizen and Lean manufacturing principles (preferably working knowledge)

 

Qualification Requirements:

         A Bachelor's degree in Operations Management, Business Management, Business Administration or related discipline strongly preferred, or comparable combination of education and experience is required

         The successful candidate will have a minimum 3 years of experience in shop operations, facilitation and production control in a manufacturing environment, production planning, inventory management principles and practices, or materials management disciplines
