Hours: Full time, Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. -4:30 p.m. some evenings and weekends as necessary.
Provides professional planning support in the Planning Department's Development Review Division.
Nature of Work/Examples of Work Performed
Provide information and assistance to the general public and the development community on a daily basis.
Review and analyze land use proposals based upon established zoning and subdivision regulations and design standards.
Prepare professional staff reports; and make recommendations to elected and appointed officials.
Desirable Knowledge, Abilities & Skills/Desirable Training & Experience
Strong verbal communications and written skills with the interpersonal skills required to work with the public are paramount.
Some planning experience or completion of graduate studies with a master's degree in city, regional or urban planning desired.
Minimum Qualifications/Necessary Special Requirements
Qualifications: Bachelor's degree with major coursework in planning or in one of the related social or engineering sciences; or any equivalent combination of training and experience.
To be eligible for insurance benefits, employees must work at least 30 hours per week.
To be eligible for the retirement plan, employees must work at least 20 hours per week.
Temporary, seasonal, and unclassified employees are not eligible for benefits.
