Duties

  • Serves under the general supervision of Planner/Estimator Supervisor and receives direction from the Work Management Branch.
  • Independently plans and carries assignments through to completion receiving advice and assistance on unusual problems.
  • Assures that standard parts, available materials, and commercial items are used so far as practicable.

However, you must be able to demonstrate, through experience shown in your written application materials that you possess the sufficient knowledge, skills, and abilities to successfully perform the work of this position without more than normal supervision.
Minimum Qualifications (Screen Out Element): Ability to do the work of a(n) Planner Estimator (Maintenance Mechanic) ~ without more than normal supervision. Have the ability to perform common basic duties such as Maintains contact with key personnel within the organization to recommend and discuss the proper sequence of operations and methods, and to explain various phases of plans and operational requirements. Initiates close coordination with all organizational elements to ensure accomplishment of work commensurate with manpower, materials, and facilities available. I can Observes whether estimates are adequate, if user requirements are satisfactory, I work under normal supervision of a work leader or journey-level employee who observes tasks in progress and upon completion to make sure they are properly performed. - Failure to meet this Screen out Element will result in an ineligible rating.
  • PHYSICAL EFFORT: Work requires considerable walking, standing, climbing, and crawling. Lifts and carries moderately heavy equipment, such as ladders (25-80 pounds).
  • WORKING CONDITIONS: Work is performed inside and outside during all seasons of the year under all weather conditions. May work underneath buildings or in other close, poorly ventilated, humid areas, such as attics. There is danger of injury from falls off ladders and roofs; incumbent is subject to cuts and bruises during the course of estimating.
