KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Use of various tools and equipment to assemble/disassemble flanges, blind/de-blind equipment, demo/install piping, pull/replace valves, clean/repair heater burners, pull and clean filters/screens, torque/tension joints, make-up/fabricate tubing and threaded piping, and perform hydrostatic testing.
  • Ensure that equipment is safely prepared for Maintenance and all documents are in order prior to starting work.
  • Ensure all work is performed in a safe and environmentally compliant manner, adhering to site Health and Safety processes and Environmental regulations.
  • Perform work per applicable technical standards and specifications (Marathon, Industry, or Manufacturer).
  • Able to read and understand schematics and Piping & Instrumentation Diagrams (P&IDs).
  • Able to field-measure and draw isometric sketches for piping layout and fabrication.
  • Responsible for safely operating various types of mobile equipment, including forklifts, fixed cab cranes, and aerial lifts.
  • Able to work as a team and collaborate to accomplish work efficiently and to high quality standards.
  • Effective verbal and written communication and reporting on work being performed.
  • Expected to train on Exchanger craft, including knowledge of exchanger types, exchanger-specific tooling and procedures, and rigging and pulling exchanger bundles.
  • Expected to train on Welding craft, including knowledge of filler metals and electrodes, welding preparation, types of welding, and NDE testing methods.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
  • Must have a high school diploma or GED.
  • Must have completion of a recognized Pipefitter or Boilermaker apprenticeship program or two years of verifiable journeyman level pipefitter/boilermaker work experience.
  • Must be knowledgeable on the use of tools/equipment of the trade and general rigging methods.
  • Must be able to wear appropriate PPE in the facility and be able to physically perform all tasks in the field.
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the US without the need for future VISA sponsorship.
  • Must obtain and maintain a Transportation Worker Identification Credential (TWIC).
  • Must possess and maintain a valid Driver's License with an acceptable driving record.
  • Must be able to support irregular or extended work hours and call-out situations when needed.
  • Work experience in a refining, petrochemical, or other related industry preferred.
  • Heat exchanger knowledge/experience preferred, but not required.
  • Welding knowledge/experience preferred, but not required.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel) and SAP preferred.

PAY AND BENEFITS:
  • This role has a starting rate of $46.01. The maximum rate for the position is $51.49 with demonstrated qualification/proficiency after being hired. Annual increases are scheduled.
  • Annual Bonus plan that applies to all annual eligible earnings with a target of 6% up to 200% target depending on Company performance.
  • 401k plan with Company match of 7% on 6% employee contribution.
  • Cash balance pension plan of 7/9/11% depending on age and years of service.
