Position Summary:
Provides quality therapy and care to patients suffering cardiopulmonary, neurological or other metabolic disturbances which require the administration of various treatments; communicates with physician concerning efficacy of therapy, instructs patients, takes phone orders and performs other cardiopulmonary care services functions.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Ability to meet minimum hospital hiring standards.
- High School Graduate or Equivalent and completion of a respiratory care program approved by the American Medical Association.
- Certificate of Registration as a Respiratory Care Practitioner in the state of Oregon.
- Registered Respiratory Therapist by the National Board for Respiratory Care.
- Experience preferred.
- Obtain BLS certification within three months of hire, and maintain as current.
- Obtain ACLS within six months of hire and maintain as current.
- Obtain PALS within six months of hire and maintain as current preferred.
- Obtain NRP within six months of hire and maintain as current preferred.
Essential Job Functions:
- Conducts a program of treatment, management, diagnostic evaluation and care of patients with deficiencies and abnormalities of the cardiopulmonary system in a safe and therapeutically effective manner.
- Administers and documents medication in accordance with departmental policies and procedures.
- Correctly administers Cardiopulmonary Care Services in accordance with Policies and Procedures.
- Maintains awareness of environmental conditions and initiates corrective intervention as indicated.
- Maintain a professional relationship with the medical staff.
