AddressSummary The Pipefitter Supervisor is primarily responsible for supervising workers, either directly or through subordinate leaders, in accomplishing trades and labor work operations in a segment of an organization, a group or work shift. Responsibilities Perform plumbing and maintenance repairs. Prepare materials and plan plumbing repair/maintenance jobs. Repair and/or make alterations on high and low pressure steam piping, high and low pressure water piping, sewer and storm piping. Check equipment for unsafe conditions. Test inspect and document fire protection signals, tamper switches and water flow devices, fire pumps, sprinkler system main drain, and fire department connections. Experience with whirlpools, dietetic equipment, autoclaves, storm and sewer pumps, boilers, oxygen tanks and eye washers. Supervise the operation, alterations and preventative maintenance to mechanical plumbing and maintenance steam systems. Participation in the seasonal influenza program is a requirement for all Department of Veterans Affairs Health Care Personnel (HCP). It is a requirement that all HCP to receive annual seasonal influenza vaccination or obtain an exemption for medical or religious reasons. The Interagency Career Transition Assistance Plan (ICTAP) and Career Transition Assistance Plan (CTAP) provide eligible displaced VA competitive service employees with selection priority over other candidates for competitive service vacancies.
