Pipefitter

THIS JOB WILL TRAVEL TO JOBSITES ALL OVER THE METRO ATLANTA AREA, WHICH COULD INCLUDE BUFORD, GWINNETT, COVINGTON, CARROLLTON, ATHENS, ETC.

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Pipefitter to join our team. As a Pipefitter, you will be responsible for installing, assembling, and maintaining piping systems in accordance with codes and standards. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with strong technical skills and a passion for precision work.

Applicants should possess knowledge of general construction practices and procedures. Primary job functions may transfer from one task to another as needed. Applicants are required to assist with installing mechanical systems, assist with maintenance of tools and equipment, and complete various cleanup/housekeeping activities.

These employees report to a Foreman and Project Manager.

Duties:

• Layout, fabricate, install, repair troubleshoot, and maintain various types of piping systems, pipe supports, fixtures, and related hydraulic/pneumatic equipment
• Interpret and follow blueprints, schematics, and specifications to the detail - our blueprints are created specifically for each project and prefabricated to fit perfectly
• Cut, thread, and bend pipes using hand tools, machinery, grooving (Victaulic), and welding
• Work and fuse with piping made from all metals (i.e. copper, iron, carbon steel, stainless steel, and other alloy metals)
• Measure and mark pipes for cutting and assembly ensuring the proper placement and alignment of materials
• Install pipe hangers and supports to ensure proper alignment and stability
• Test piping systems for leaks using pressure gauges or other testing equipment
• Collaborate with other tradespeople to ensure efficient project completion
• Maintain accurate records of work performed
• Will use basic hand tools (i.e. tape measure, drills, pipe wrenches)

Requirements:

• Proven experience as a Pipefitter or similar role
• Strong knowledge of codes, standards, and regulations related to pipefitting
• Proficient in pipe threading, plumbing techniques, tube bending, welding, soldering, and other relevant skills
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings
• Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail
• Physical stamina to perform manual labor tasks in various weather conditions, indoor and outdoor, including times of inclement weather
• Physical stamina to climb, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, reach, stand, walk, push, pull, lift, grasp, twist, and bend for extended periods
• Use arms & hands to reach for, handle, or manipulate objects
• Ability to climb in overhead structures, work beneath machines, close quarters performing analysis and repair work
• Lift & carry materials weighing up to 50 pounds
• Be able to complete repetitive tasks to operate standard operating equipment
• Must be highly safety conscious and be able to see (and escape) from dangerous situations
• Ability to climb a ladder & step into various pieces of equipment
• Strong communication and teamwork abilities
