Pipefitter Helper

You must have experience in commercial construction, live in the Gwinnett/Buford area, and have reliable transportation to and from job sites.

We are seeking a skilled Pipefitter Helper to join our team. As a Pipefitter Helper, you will assist in installing, repairing, and maintaining piping systems. This hands-on role requires knowledge of various pipefitting techniques and being a team player.

This position is an entry-level position for someone who knows the construction industry. This position will start as a helper and can grow into a mechanic, pipe fitter, or welder.

Responsibilities:

• Assist pipefitters in the installation and repair of piping systems
• Measure, cut, and thread pipes using appropriate tools and equipment
• Assist in the assembly and installation of pipe hangers and supports
• Clean and prepare pipes for welding or soldering
• Assist in the testing of piping systems for leaks or malfunctions
• Follow safety procedures and guidelines to ensure a safe working environment
• Maintain tools, equipment, and work area in a clean and organized manner

Requirements:

• Previous experience in a similar role preferred
• Knowledge of pipefitting techniques and procedures
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings
• Basic math skills for measuring and calculating pipe lengths
• Familiarity with building codes and regulations related to pipefitting
• Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills
• Ability to work well as part of a team
• Physical stamina to perform tasks that require bending, lifting, and standing for extended periods

Skills:

• HVAC knowledge is a plus
• Rigging experience is preferred
• Basic welding skills (stick welding) are desirable
• Familiarity with pipe threading techniques
• Proficiency in using basic math skills for measurements
• Ability to use calipers for precise measurements

We are a Mechanical Contractor performing work all over the metro area and out of town. We work only in commercial and industrial applications. Our installs mostly consist of chillers, air handling units, cooling towers, pipe systems, etc…
