About the YMCA of Greater Brandywine: The YMCA of Greater Brandywine (YGBW), an association of eight YMCAs serving Chester County, is a non-profit organization committed to nurturing the potential of every child, promoting healthy living and fostering social responsibility through life-changing programs for all.
Position Summary: The Pickleball Associate's primary responsibility is to greet and welcome all who visit the Pickleball Center at Downingtown. Pickleball Associates build community by providing accurate information and connecting members with one another, staff members, programs, and resources that will help them to accomplish their goals.
Responsibilities:
• Provides outstanding customer experience by greeting members and helping to direct them to the appropriate areas in the facility.
• Develops and maintains a full understanding of the benefits, offerings, and values of a Pickleball Center membership and programming.
• Assists in facility tours for prospective members.
• Performs basic functions in the organizational membership software system including but not limited to starting and processing memberships, updating contact information, taking payments, and registering individuals for programs.
• Ensures facility security by scanning members in and checking that their membership is valid before permitting entry.
• Confirm members are signed up for all open skill-level play sessions and playing on the correct court(s).
• Answers member inquiries and/or directs them to the appropriate staff member, ensuring the inquiry is responded to appropriately and in a timely fashion.
• Maintains accurate cash, receipt records, and financial operating procedures.
• Understands and properly executes opening and closing procedures.
• Maintains a professional atmosphere and presentation with proper and current signage.
• Maintain a clean and risk-free environment.
• Always wears approved YGBW apparel and name tag when on duty.
• Lead with enthusiasm and positive motivation.
• Lead by example at all times. Interact with a high level of professionalism and accountability.
• Ensure compliance with all YGBW policies and standard operating procedures.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
• Must be 18 years of age or older.
• Basic computer knowledge and skills preferred; ability to learn new software and new software applications quickly.
• Experience with Pickleball Den software is preferred.
• Knowledge and passion for the game of pickleball and the ability to share the sport with others.
• IPTPA (International Pickleball Teaching Professional Association) Level I Certificate or PPR (Professional Pickleball Registry) Coach preferred.
• Excellent verbal communication skills are preferred.
• Cash handling experience preferred.
• Enjoy working with and helping people with a friendly and positive demeanor.
