We are looking for a new college graduate in optical sciences to join our team engineering unique solutions to our customers' challenging wafer heating and temperature measurement requirements. The successful candidate will become a member of the Front End Products Business Unit developing new hardware and working with process teams to bring new and better solutions to the wafer fab equipment market.
Essential Functions / Job Description:

  • Work with a world-class team to develop new hardware for the next generation of semiconductor annealing technologies and tools that simultaneously extends tool capabilities and measurement accuracy.
  • Design, implement and conduct lab bench experiments to evaluate feasibility of proposed concepts and prototype hardware.
  • Collect, analyze and present data to a multi-disciplinary team to collaboratively assess the differentiated performance over current practice.
  • Analyze tool sensor and wafer data to gauge and troubleshoot current tool performance.
  • Work with top-tier suppliers to define performance specifications and testing protocols for critical optical system assemblies of annealing tools.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate optical systems into final products.
  • Act as a resource within the business unit to help solve imaging and optical metrology problems.

Requirements:
  • Master of Science in Physics, Applied Optics or Optical Engineering; PhD preferred.
  • Strong understanding of optical theory, design principles, and techniques.
  • Experience with optical design software (Zemax or CODEV) and non-sequential raytracing (Zemax or LightTools) software.
  • Excellent problem-solving, communication, and presentation skills.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Hands-on experience using tools for optical testing, alignment, metrology, and imaging.
  • Ability to analyze and interpret data using programming languages such as MATLAB, Python or Mathematica.
  • Experience with non-contact temperature measurement.
  • Experience operating high power lasers
  • Experience using laboratory measurement automation software such as Labview or Python
  • Knowledge of various optical materials and coatings
  • Experience in working with optical suppliers and product clients.
  • Publications in peer-reviewed journals or patents in optics related fields

U.S. Salary Range:
$120,000.00 - $165,000.00
The salary offered to a selected candidate will be based on multiple factors including location, hire grade, job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and with consideration of internal equity of our current team members. In addition to a comprehensive benefits package, candidates may be eligible for other forms of compensation such as participation in a bonus and a stock award program, as applicable.
For all sales roles, the posted salary range is the Target Total Cash (TTC) range for the role, which is the sum of base salary and target bonus amount at 100% goal achievement.
