Description:
Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner needed for Gastroenterology practice in South Ogden, Utah.
Duties:
- Conduct physical exams, assess health status, order and interprets tests, prescribe medications, and treat illnesses.
- Consult with physician as needed and refer to physicians for more complicated medical cases or cases that are not a routine part of a PA's or NP's scope of work.
- Triage and evaluate patient problems.
- Counsel patient/family on preventive health care.
- Review patient records, interpret and integrate data to determine appropriate diagnostic and therapeutic procedures needed in conjunction with the physician or under the direction of a physician.
- Monitor therapies and provide continuity of care.
- Interview and advises patient regarding health and illness prevention; instruct patient and family regarding medications and treatment instructions.
- For Physician Assistants - bachelor's degree and successful completion of accredited Physician Assistant program; national certification from the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants; current state PA license.
- For Nurse Practitioners - BSN required, MSN preferred; successful completion of advanced practitioner training and certification as a practitioner (general or specialized) from an approved Nurse Practitioner program.
