Orthopedic Specialists of SW Florida’s state-of-the-art, 36,000 square-foot facility incorporates the latest in leading-edge technology in order to provide optimal care for patients who have bone, joint, muscle and spine problems. Our office includes five Centers of Excellence and a full Physical Therapy and Occupational/Hand Therapy division, which work in close coordination with our physicians to provide non-operative, preoperative, post-operative and preventive care.
Responsibilities:
- First and foremost, assist the therapists with their patients as far as instructing the patient through their exercises
- Schedule patients for appointments
- Wash and fold towels, pillow cases, gowns and any other laundry
- Make copies of exercise sheets and keep necessary Physical Therapy forms stocked
- Place patients on ice and e-stim
- Arrange exercise items neatly when the patients have finished using them
- Order and receive any necessary supplies for Physical Therapy use
- Keep the therapy department clean and organized in general (This includes: cleaning beds after each use, cleaning machines, cleaning stim. pads, washing hot pack pads, keeping hydrocollators clean, defrosting the freezer, keeping suture removal tool box clean, cleaning splint making machine, refilling any ultrasound gel bottles, replacing drinking cups for patients, replacing towel rolls, replacing old thera-bands, and other miscellaneous cleaning duties)
- Make sure patients have been placed on the list for Rehab Rounds as seen by Dr. Gardner
- Make sure each room has necessary materials for performing P.T. evaluations and dressing changes
