Physical Therapist
- The responsibility of this position includes the day to day therapeutic intervention of appropriate individuals in the rehab environment.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Responsible for the maintenance and accuracy of records about patient care for all patients on personal case load.
- Responsible for the correct reporting of billing information to the Director of Rehabilitation regarding all patients on personal case load.
- Provide direct patient care as prescribed, including evaluation and treatment planning.
- Assist and assess transfers, gait and balance as required by functional mobility of patient level of assistance from minimum to maximum.
- Responsible for the reporting and interpretation of treatment results.
- Participate in development and presentation of in-services for the facility as requested.
- Supervise support personnel in immediate work areas as appropriate.
- Perform clinical functions: screens, evaluations, development of treatment plans, and delivery of treatment in accordance with Medicare / Private Insurance / APTA policies and procedures.
- Modify treatment approaches and adapts intervention environment, tools, materials, and activities reflecting the changing needs and according to the individual and his or her social cultural context
- Participate in meetings regarding patient care as appropriate.
- Assist when appropriate with any community education and public relations activities of the facility.
- Provide education to patient’s family and/or staff on the specific treatment plan and therapy goals for the patient.
- Responsible for the coordination and cooperation with other staff members in carrying out the treatment plan as established.
- Identifies and pursues own professional growth and development.
- Schedules and prioritizes own workload.
- Participates in professional and community activities.
- Functions according to the APTA Code of Ethics and Standards of Practice
- Supervises volunteers, PTAs, PT students, PTA students, and other personnel according to APTA
- Participates in development of policies and procedures.
- Administers standardized tests as clinically appropriate.
- Performs advanced, specialized evaluation or interventions.
- Participates in organizational activities and committees.
- Contributes to program planning and development.
- Critically examines own practice and integrates new knowledge.
- Other duties as assigned.
