Summary of Main Duties:
Evaluates clients to identify needs, develop, implement, and document an appropriate physical therapy treatment program which achieves quantifiable results.
Job Duties:

• Provides formal and informal evaluation of functional capabilities of clients on assigned caseload. Reviews results with clients and their families as well as classroom staff when indicated.
• Develops and implements individual treatment plans and ongoing treatment programs addressing specific goals with measurable outcomes. Schedules clients to meet requirements of education plan.
• Maintains written documentation of all evaluations, Individual Education Plan (IEP) goals, PT treatment plans, progress notes and communication with doctors and families in a professional, compliant, and timely manner.
• Participates actively, cooperatively, and constructively as a member of a multidisciplinary team.
• Provides instruction and guidance to ensure that the clients' IEP goals are integrated into a comprehensive educational program.
• Assesses, aids in measurement and/or fabrication, and provides justification for adaptive equipment used to facilitate and enhance client's mobility, positioning, and independent function.
• Maintains and orders therapeutic equipment, supplies and evaluation protocols, (including in-house as well as personally owned adaptive equipment), as required. Keeps a written record of equipment on loan.
• Provides consultation and home programs for the students and their families/caregivers to facilitate the goals identified in IEP. Attends IEP and team meetings as directed.
• Supervises physical therapy assistants (when applicable). Assigns caseload and treatment schedule. Co-treats at a minimum of once a month per State regulations. Conducts additional meetings outside of direct service time and provides ongoing consultation. Participates in annual performance review.

Requirements

• Bachelor's or Master's Degree from an accredited physical therapy program.
• Licensure as a registered Physical Therapist by the Massachusetts Department of Health of Health.
• A minimum of one (1) year related experience; familiarity with a pediatric population preferred.
• Valid CPR and First Aid training.
