better our community!
$50,055 - $74,127 to start DOE
$2,100 Master's degree stipend
Kids Unlimited was founded in 1998 as a grassroots pilot program at a low-income elementary school to do one thing, empower kids to believe. The belief that all kids, despite their backgrounds and economic limitations, deserve accessibility to opportunities. The KUA K-8 PE teacher must be knowledgeable about healthy life practices and use every day relevant situations to teach these practices; must be creative and resourceful and be flexible and engaging as an instructor for students from multiple grade levels. A desire to collaborate with other educators, as well as the ability to maintain and adapt existing curricula to meet the ever-changing needs of our students is required. The ideal candidate will be comfortable using a variety of pedagogical and assessment tools, have a passion for educating ALL STUDENTS, and a willingness to be involved in the school community beyond the classroom setting.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
- Plans, prepares and delivers instruction that facilitates active learning and provides appropriate learning experiences for all students.
- Manages student behavior by establishing and enforcing classroom school expectations and procedures.
- Establishes, communicates, monitors, and evaluates clear outcomes for students.
- Communicates and interacts with students, parents, staff, and the community.
- Develops, selects, and modifies instructional plans and materials to meet the needs of all students.
- Provides an atmosphere and environment conducive to the intellectual, physical, social, and emotional development of children.
- Strives to maintain and improve professional competence while participating in on-going professional development activities.
- Maintains and updates all appropriate records completely and accurately as required by laws, district policies and/or school practices.
- Maintains regular, on-time attendance.
- Attends and participates in department/grade level, school, district, and parent meetings and serves on special committees.
- Provides appropriate feedback on student progress to students and parents in a timely manner.
- Reacts to change productively.
- Supports operational needs of the school through class coverage, duties outside of the classroom, school-wide activities, and emergency and safety planning and practice.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills; able to effectively communicate with students, school staff, families/caregivers and other stakeholders.
Qualifications
- Bilingual Educators preferred, but not required;
- Valid Oregon Teaching License or an action plan to gain a valid Oregon Teaching License prior to January 19, 2023

Kids Unlimited Academy Environment:
· Kids Unlimited Academy curriculum includes two hours of enrichment programming which includes science, PE, music and art;
· Kids Unlimited Academy provides an extended day, extended year program, bringing students approximately 30% more instructional time than the local district's schools;
· Every day students will receive 90 minutes of instruction in both reading and math;
· Teachers will have common planning time a minimum of three days each week to collaborate with their grade partner teacher to analyze data and develop a strategy to increase successful student outcomes.
