WORK DAYS: 190 if work begins in August
SALARY: For the 2023-24 school year, half-time pay would be $21,717.06 - $42630.06 (based on full 190 days).
Sublimity School is seeking to fill a half time teaching position for the remainder of the 2023-24 school year and beyond. This position works half days for the entire traditional school calendar. This position is grant-funded through the end of the 2024-25 school year.
Applicants would provide instruction based on the district curriculum for elementary and middle school student Physical Education, allowing them to reach their potential for physical, emotional, intellectual, and psychological growth and maturation. A successful applicant would be appropriately licensed.
Applicants should have knowledge of Professional Learning Communities, an ability to create a safe and orderly classroom, and be willing to work with team members to creates a dynamic learning environment for all students of the North Santiam School District. Applicants should have:

1. Current valid Oregon Teaching License with appropriate authorization level required, or ability to obtain one
2. Ability to demonstrate knowledge of subject matter, to seek professional growth, and improve classroom instruction
3. Ability to demonstrate high standards of moral and ethical behavior and to serve as an effective role model
4. Regular attendance and punctuality
5. Ability to work harmoniously with others and to communicate effectively both orally and in writing with students, parents, staff, and the community
6. Other qualifications as may be established by the school district

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Plan and implement a program of study following state and district goals/curriculum that meets the individual needs and development of students
• Guide the learning process toward the achievement of curriculum goals; establish clear objectives for all instructional units, projects, and lessons to communicate these goals and objectives to students
• Effective communication, oral and written, with students, staff, parents, and the public
• Develop and maintain a classroom environment conducive to learning
• Establish and clarify acceptable standards for student behavior and demonstrate effective classroom management skills
• Diagnose the needs and abilities of students and prescribe appropriate learning activities for each student
• Assess the accomplishments of students regularly and maintain such records as required by law and District policy
• Maintain excellence in instruction with focus upon student outcomes
• Utilize age-appropriate instructional strategies
• Regular attendance and punctuality
• Maintain a high level of ethical behavior
• Familiarity with, and following of, established written standard operating procedures for specific responsibilities of this position
• Perform other duties assigned by the administration
