St. Sylvester School is seeking a student-centered, team-oriented, and energetic individual to deliver PK-8th grade Physical Education instruction. Qualified candidates will work to deepen students' understanding of their roles as learners, focusing on developing critical-thinking skills, social emotional skills, and grit in their students. Teacher will be responsible for lesson planning, grade keeping, classroom instruction, and implementing developmentally appropriate and respectful discipline for student behaviors. Teacher will engage fully in professional development and instructional coaching and will be a model of a growth mindset to students, staff, and families.

Teacher will be mindful of students' diverse learning needs and will differentiate instruction based on those needs, implementing any accommodations specified in IEP's and 504 plans as well as utilizing the universal design for learning to meet the needs of students who are not on IEP or 504 plans. Teacher will be highly communicative both with parents/guardians and other staff members regarding student academic progress and will be solution-oriented in his/her approach to targeting the learning needs of his/her students.
Working Conditions:
~Typically one prep period per day
~Weekly meetings either as a full staff or as a department
~Some evening/weekend events throughout the year (Open House events, school concerts, etc.)
~Opportunities to lead afterschool clubs and committees
Additional Requirements:
~Bachelor's Degree
~Practicing Catholic a plus
~Conversational in Spanish a plus
