POSITION PURPOSE: The CPA Photographer will capture the ethos of the CPA mission in daily life through the lens of a camera.

DIRECT REPORT: Director of Communications
POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Build narratives for school life through high-quality imagery and capturing small moments with big impact in a variety of settings.
- Serve as the lead photographer for all CPA visuals in the classroom, school events, and student life (this position does not currently support athletic or yearbook photography)
- Manage the CPA SmugMug account by uploading, organizing and archiving school photos
- Exhibit strong administrative capacity by constantly keeping the CPA SmugMug account organized and curated
- Exhibit a quick turn around (12-24 hours) on uploading pictures from events that are ready to display (processed and edited)
- Collaborate with the Communications team for specific photography needs, sourcing photos for social media, website, blog, headshots, the CPA Viewbook, the CPA magazine, and other digital and print publications
- Provides photography at key Academy events and works with CPA videographer to coordinate necessary visual coverage
- Assists Director of Communications on key photography projects
- Create relationships across campus with faculty and staff that will help facilitate capturing authentic school life with the camera

QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS:
Education
- Bachelor’s degree required; strongly preferred in an area of communications
Experience
- 3-5 years of experience in photography
- Experience in a school environment is preferred
Skills and Abilities
- Proficiency in Lightroom, Photoshop, Sony, Nikon, Canon cameras
- Proficiency in Twitter, Instagram, and Facebook
- Experience with Finalsite or Blackbaud CMS preferred
- Must be flexible and adaptable to the often-changing variables around campus for both candid and curated photography
- Must be team-oriented and able to work with a broader communications team to achieve organizational goals, while also being self-motivated to capture campus life with the camera
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
