ABOUT THE POSITION
The Photographer will photograph, organize, and prepare web images and associated data for our WebSphere eCommerce platform in our continuous effort to enhance the customer experience online. Our ideal candidate will aspire to find new and creative ways to engage our customer and motivate loyalty and sales through the creation and creative deployment of photo and image assets. This position reports directly to the Photography and Styling Manager.
RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES
- Produce images from conception through final delivery, which involves shooting and editing photos for products, instructional, inspirational, and advertising purposes.
- Properly light subjects using artificial or natural lighting and using strobes and reflectors where necessary.
- Retouch, resize, and enhance images as needed using Photoshop or other photography software.
- Must be able to manage the planning and producing of all photos, spontaneous or planned, while staying in line with the photo production plan.
- Engage with and direct modeling talent to best showcase merchandise and accomplish targeted aesthetic.
- Work with a stylist to ensure product and wardrobe are styled efficiently and correctly.
- Capture craftsmanship, details, benefits, and uniqueness of individual products.
- Manage and organize media assets through clear/concise information architecture.
- Research photo production trends and apply innovation in the style of images.
- Be able to perform hands on product styling for photography.
- Organize product digital assets uploads in preparation for scheduled launch dates, maintain a high standard of product integrity and efficient time to site.
- Work with merchants on corrections and updates to products when needed.
- Perform various quality assurance tasks including website testing, content review, and issue tracking.
- Work effectively and efficiently with the creative team and internal partners to maximize product page conversion with quality product imaging that anticipates the questions/needs of our online customers.
- Ensure consistency and compliance with style/content guidelines and brand strategies.
- Coordinate plans and activities with others to ensure a coordinated work effort and team approach.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
- Previous experience in a studio environment.
- Strong lighting and compositional skills.
- Advanced digital skills in processing, color-correction, editing, and clipping.
- Basic knowledge of quality image standards, renaming images and working with files across a network.
- Photoshop or image editing experience.
- Ability to remain organized, pay strict attention to detail, and meet critical deadlines within a high volume, fast-paced environment.
- Ability to work successfully with cross-functional teams.
- Content management system experience (CMS) is a plus.
- Sound awareness of eCommerce fundamentals preferred.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications is a plus
