Qualifications:
Phlebotomy License
PBT (American Society for Clinical Pathology); RPT (American Medical Technologist); CPT (National Phlebotomy Association); PT (American Society of Phlebotomy); CPT (National Health career Association); NCPT (National Center for Competency Testing)

Position responsibilities:
Job Summary
The Phlebotomist collects and processes quality specimens in a safe manner as outlined in CRMC policies and procedures. The Phlebotomist is responsible for training and auditing of behaviors and performance and gives feedback to laboratory leadership of findings from audits and provides updates on training.
Essential Functions and Responsibilities
Performs essential job duties of Phlebotomist
Performs positive patient identification prior to beginning blood collection
Collects specimens in proper container based on test ordered
Processes specimens as appropriate for test ordered
Conducts the training or retraining of Phlebotomy staff
Audits Phlebotomy staff on behaviors and performance
Reports finding to Phlebotomy Supervisor or other laboratory leaders
Assists with interviewing job applicants
Responsible for maintaining high customer satisfaction
Performs AIDET (Acknowledge, Introduce, Duration, Explanation, Thanks)
Assists external and internal customers through rounding and services delivery follow up
Communicates effectively in a professional manner
Responsible for timeliness of patient care
Responsible for collecting specimens at appropriate times
Processes and delivers specimens to the testing area in timely manner
Meets or exceeds department turnaround time goals and expectations
Performs clerical duties
Prepares and files reports, organizes orders and log sheets
Monitors and replenishes supplies as need for work efficiency
Maintains a neat and organized work area
Demonstrates involvement with hospital activities
Participates in interdepartmental activities
Participates in interdepartmental committees
Other duties as assigned
