Position Summary:
Assists pharmacists in the day to day operation of various medication distribution programs and support activities which are necessary to the provision of institutional pharmacy services.
Essential Functions:
Makes regular pick-up/delivery rounds to nursing units and other departments as per policy Drag Edit Delete Fills medication orders under the supervision of a pharmacist Drag Edit Delete Prepares and delivers IV admixtures under the supervision of a pharmacist Drag Edit Delete Fills order for controlled substances Drag Edit Delete Maintains floor stock as assigned Drag Edit Delete Prepacks medication in unit dose containers under the supervision of a pharmacist Drag Edit Delete Assists with patient charging, ordering and inventory Drag Edit Delete Assists with Quality Assurance and Drug Use Evaluation activities Drag Edit Delete Assists pharmacists with other dutiesReports to: Staff Pharmacist
Minimum EducationHigh school diploma or equivalent - Required Drag Edit Delete Required Skills

WV State licensed Pharmacy Technician. If not licensed, employee must obtain WV State Pharmacy Technician Trainee license prior to hire and complete our 500 hour on-the-job training program. Trainee must WV State Pharmacy Technician license within 90 days of completing the program.
WV State Pharmacy Intern license is acceptable in lieu of technician or trainee license.
PTCB certification preferred. Drag Edit Delete Minimum Work Experience
Previous experience in pharmacy or another medically related field preferred. Demonstrated willingness to perform routine repetitive tasks on a continuous basis and maintain a neat and orderly work area. Automation experience preferred.
PharmacyTech II - Must be employed at RGH as a full-time Pharmacy Tech for 30 days. Complete "Essentials of Quality Improvement" in Life Talent. Draft a brief summary of a quality improvement opportunity at RGH.
Pharmacy Tech III - Must be employed at RGH as a full-time Pharmacy Tech for 90 days. Must be PTCB/NHA certified OR an IV technician that performs Chemotherapy compounding OR show and explain how you've made strides in your quality improvement project OR be a registered Pharmacy Intern.
