The role you'll contribute:
Actively participates in outstanding customer service and accepts responsibility in maintaining relationships that are equally respectful to all. Primary responsibility is the provision of distributive functions and pharmacy operational tasks, which includes but is not limited to assisting the pharmacist with all duties of preparing and dispensing of medications, inventory management, pharmacy billing and customer service, and regulatory compliance. Performs duties necessary for the effective daily operation of all department services and programs. Accurately responds to prescription dispensing requests, coordinates medication access and adherence, prepares medications for pharmacist review/check, performs claim adjudication and processes customer (patient) account reconciliation.
The value you'll bring to the team:

• Actively performs Pharmacy Technician functions and maintains active proficiency in pharmacy specific computer systems and operational programs.
• Specialty Customer Service Operations, phone and email
• Answers incoming customer (patient) and provider calls to the pharmacy in a timely and courteous manner, ensuring standards for Average Speed to Answer (ASA) and Abandonment Rate (AR) are met, if applicable
• Place outbound calls to the patients to schedule deliveries of temperature sensitive medications
• Processes claims adjudication and copay assistance billing for new prescription orders and refill requests, ensuring appropriate National Drug Code (NDC) selection and shipping method are selected at the time of dispense. Verifies ship date and ship to address, if applicable
• Supports needs of the patient as part of a comprehensive patient management program, if applicable

Qualifications
The expertise and experiences you'll need to succeed :
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED :

• High School degree or Equivalent
• One year of Pharmacy Technician experience, in a retail pharmacy, mail-order pharmacy, central fill, or hospital setting OR completion of a Pharmacy Technician student internship at AdventHealth in a retail or hospital setting, in lieu of Pharmacy Technician experience.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE PREFERRED:

• Previous experience in a managed healthcare organization, medical insurance company, pharmacy benefit management or other healthcare related entity.
• Specialty pharmacy experience preferred.

LICENSURE, CERTIFICATION OR REGISTRATION REQUIRED:

• Florida Board of Pharmacy Registered Pharmacy Technician (RPT) license; must complete state required continuing education requirements

LICENSURE, CERTIFICATION OR REGISTRATION PREFERRED:

• PTCB- National Pharmacy Technician Certification (CPhT)
