Overview:
Are you a self-started and high-performance professional who loves a challenge? Do you enjoy finding innovative solutions to challenges? Our growing healthcare business is looking for an experienced Pharmacy Technician to be a valued part of our team.
Essential duties and responsibilities:
· Fills daily drug orders accurately and efficiently under the supervision of a licensed pharmacist.
· Operates computer systems to accurately input medication orders and obtain necessary patient information.
· Assists in maintaining pharmacy inventory and record keeping in accordance with state and federal law. Reports medication errors on a continuous basis.
· Assures timely distribution of prescribed medications and stock items as needed.
· Applies labels according to directions.
· Follow all applicable government regulations, including HIPAA.
· Works with the pharmacist to assist in the pharmacy functions and keeping the pharmacy in compliance with all federal and state requirements.
· Performs inventory audits and purchases supplies and medication.
· Utilizes effective listening and communication skills. Exhibits proactive problem solving to address issues impacting departmental services.
· Performs data entry, record keeping, adjudicate claims, packaging, and other tasks related to the fulfillment and dispensing of prescriptions.
· Identifies workflow or process improvement opportunities and communicate to department leadership.
· Performs functions requested by pharmacist or pharmacy leadership in a timely manner.
· Other duties may be assigned as required.
Minimum Qualifications:
· High school or equivalent
· Pharmacy technician experience: 1 year (Preferred)
· Wellsky/CareTend/CPR+(Software platform) experience (2+ years preferred)
· Must meet state requirements to work as a Pharmacy Technician, such as minimum age, qualification, registration, certification, and/or licensure when required by the State Board of Pharmacy
· Knowledge of Microsoft Office and telephone protocol. Duties require professional verbal and written communication skills
· Covid 19 vaccine - fully vaccinated- Required
