Job description

Overview:

Under the immediate supervision of a licensed pharmacist, responsible for customer service and pharmacist support as directed by the Director of Ancillary Services.

 

Pharmacy Tech range: $20-$23.25 DOE with ability to go higher for highly experienced candidates.

Responsibilities:
  1. Responsible for data entry to ensure efficient workflow processes and in accordance with Pharmacist quality
    1. Verifies patient demographics
    2. Verifies clinical information
    3. Interprets prescription
    4. Performs pharmacy calculations
    5. Types label
  2. Responsible for filling
    1. Obtains appropriate medication from stock
    2. Counts, pours or reconstitutes medication
    3. Prints and affixes labels to medication or supplies
    4. Prints medication guide
    5. Submits documents, supplies and medication to pharmacist
  3. Responsible for billing each prescription according to insurance claim
    1. Adjudicates insurance claims
    2. Processes prior authorizations
    3. Notifies pharmacist of drug utilization review (DUR)
  4. Responsible for assuming assistant duties as required
    1. Answers phones and voicemail for the pharmacy department
    2. Responds to inquiries and forwards messages
    3. Makes copies and sends faxes
  5. Upon direction of Director of Ancillary Services responsible for:
    1. Tests software upgrades and implementation
    2. Maintains and updates software settings, configuration and profiles
    3. Manages assigned reports
    4. Responds to audit requests
    5. Submit and track requests for specialty items
    6. Responds to advanced insurance adjudication issues
    7. Provides feedback on workflows, systems, and pharmacy processes
  6. Responsible for other duties as
  7. Promotes a positive work culture and upholds clinic policies and procedures, including the WE CARE Standards of
  8. Must uphold confidentiality at all times in regards to CBHA activities, reports, financials, patient health information and other proprietary information specific to

 

Qualifications:Professional and Technical Knowledge:
  1. Possesses a basic level of written and verbal communication skills, computational and computer skills and mathematical knowledge typically acquired through completion of a Pharmacy Technician program
  2. Possesses thorough knowledge of pharmacy laws and regulations in the State of Washington
License and Certification:
  1. Must meet one of the following conditions
  • Possess an active Pharmacy Technician License from the State of Washington
  • Possess an active Pharmacy Assistant License from the State of Washington and 6 months pharmacy experience with ability to attain an active Pharmacy Technician License from the State of Washington by completing the organization’s Pharmacy Technician Training Program within 12 months of hire.
Technical Skills:
  1. Demonstrates proficiency in pharmacy management
  2. Demonstrates proficiency in point of sale
  3. Ability to effectively utilize and navigate Electronic Medical Record
  4. Ability to prepare basic correspondence and simple reports in Microsoft
  5. Ability to use Microsoft Excel to create tables and simple displays of
  6. Ability to create basic presentations in Microsoft Power

  • Dental – CBHA In-House Credit

In-house credit of $1,300 annual maximum for services provided at CBHA dental clinic. $35 copay is waived for preventative services.

 

  • Vision – CBHA In-House Credit

In house credit includes for one eye exam every plan year. $200 hardware credit for employee and dependents for prescription hardware (glasses, contacts, prescription sunglasses). Employees and dependents also receive one additional hardware credit per year at CBHA’s cost + 20% (used for non-prescription sunglasses, contact lenses, or a second pair of prescription glasses). $35 copay is waived for preventative services

403 (b) Retirement Plan: 

Safe Harbor Match: Employees are eligible to receive a Safe Harbor Match of 100% up to 4% of the employee’s total salary. Employee is full vested in Safe Harbor Match from day 1. Contributions are subject to IRS guidelines.

Non-Elective Contribution- Provided the employee has met enrollment qualifications, employee will also receive 4% employer contribution of employee’s total salary at the end of the Plan Year at the discretion of Board of Directors.

 

Vacation (Personal Leave): 

 

Year 1

40 hours front loaded after six (6) months of employment. Accrue at the rate of .0038per hour paid not to exceed a per pay period accrual of .3076 hours for the rest of year one (1). Vacation buyout paid hours are excluded from accrual

 

Year 2 

Accrue at the rate of .0442 per hour paid not to exceed a per pay period accrual of 3.53hours. Vacation buyout paid hours are excluded from accrual.

 

Year 3

Accrue at the rate of .5576 per hour paid not to exceed a per pay period accrual of 4.46 hours. Vacation buyout paid hours

 

All employees receive 8 vacation hours for a Wellness Day on their Anniversary Date each year.

**Martin Luther King Jr. Day & President’s Day are considered floating holidays and are used at employee’s discretion.
