DescriptionJob Summary:

The Pharmacy Support Analyst will assist in the design, development, and ongoing modification of computerized health care systems. The Pharmacy Support Analyst will also provide support to all activities related to the NOAH 340B program including purchasing, training, audits and compliance, policy and procedure development, reporting, program optimization, and other program support as needed.

Duties/Responsibilities:
  • P&P
    • Assists in the development of policies and procedures in all areas of responsibility.
    • Reviews policies and procedures on an ongoing basis and contributes to changes that ensure a culture of compliance and efficiency.
  • Education/Training
    • Provides proactive education and training to staff on policies and procedures, systems, processes, and best practices related to 340B and pharmacy fulfillment software.
    • Expands professional development through participation in related classes and seminars, meetings, current publications, podcasts and forums, regional/national association membership participation and other activities as required.
    • Acts as a Subject Matter Expert and is a resource to others across different business units within and outside the organization.
  • Audits
    • Performs monthly/quarterly 340B program internal audits (e.g., entity-owned pharmacy, contract pharmacies, clinics, purchasing, operations) as indicated by P&P with emphasis on diversion & duplicate discounts and escalates compliance issues.
  • Implementation
    • Applies experiential, process, and system knowledge to help deploy new system implementations and/or functionalities, as well as evaluate and optimize system utilization and workflows in alignment with the organizations mission and vision.
    • Designs, develops, selects, tests, implements, and evaluates new or modified informatics solutions, data structures, and decision-support mechanisms to support pharmacy fulfillment software stakeholders.
  • Reporting
    • Documents current processes to establish a baseline for developmental improvements of future workflows.
    • Uses provided tools and reports to monitor and analyze 340B prescription data, patient data, payer data, site of care, and if required, ICD-10 codes. Summarizes and reports results to the appropriate stakeholders.
    • Collaborates with 340B stakeholders to develop new reports and metrics that can be used to educate staff and assist management in tracking the overall financial and patient impact, areas of risk, and to assess areas of improvement for the organization.
  • Purchasing & Inventory
    • Analyzes and monitors 340B purchasing, receiving, and inventory control processes across the enterprise and escalates savings and compliance opportunities.
  • Split-Billing or TPA
    • Develops a thorough understanding of the split-billing/third party administrator systems and the functions to be performed.
    • Performs routine 340B accumulator maintenance for contract pharmacies, and entity-owned pharmacy, split ordering and escalates compliance issues.
  • Service
    • Translates identified gaps into documented tickets and follows through with the IT vendor to ensure final resolution of problems, recommending longer-term solutions when appropriate and communicating back to the individual reporting the problem.
  • Communication
    • Develops and fosters working relationships with internal working counterparts (pharmacy, IT, quality, business intelligence, revenue cycle, and others) to facilitate productive exchanges of information to improve program efficiency and promote program compliance.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

MUST RESIDE WITHIN THE STATE OF ARIZONA.

Required Skills/Knowledge/Abilities:

  • General knowledge of the healthcare industry, pharmaceuticals, and informatics.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Excellent time management skills, with the proven ability to meet deadlines.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong process improvement, quality measurement, and data analysis skills.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
Education and Experience:
  • High school diploma or GED required, Associate or higher degree preferred.
  • Certified Pharmacy Technician required.
  • 1+ years of 340B Analyst or equivalent experience required, completion of 340B University on Demand program preferred.
  • 3+ years of Pharmacy Technician experience utilizing pharmacy fulfillment software and/or EHR required.
Physical Requirements:
  • Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
  • Close vision (clear vision at 20 inches or less).
  • Able to hear adequately to decipher spoken word, sounds, alarms, etc.
  • Able to express or exchange ideas by means of spoken word and to convey detailed spoken instructions to other workers accurately and clearly.
  • Able to use hands and fingers for fine manipulation to touch, pick, pinch, and grasp and perform repetitive motions.
  • Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.
  • Must be able to navigate various departments of the organization’s physical premises.
Other Requirements:
  • New Hires are required to pass pre-employment background check and drug testing (effective 11/1/2022).
  • Satisfactory completion of required training from EHR vendor within 2 months of start date. Timely and satisfactory completion of any training or certification as determined by leader.
  • Valid and current driver’s license and acceptable driving record.
  • Ability to travel as needed.
