- Supervises staff, assists in developing the department budget and ensures that daily activities are in compliance with federal, state, and organizational regulations.
- Assists with the planning, administration, and monitoring of the department' capital equipment, operations and personnel budgets; reviews prior budget expenses, regularly reviews year to date expenses, investigates variances and takes corrective action as necessary.
- Analyzes departmental strengths, weaknesses, opportunities, constraints to give direction to staff in working toward meeting objectives, manages staff and employee performance.
- Manages and resolves Human resource-related issues, determines staffing needs, interviews and hires staff, determines disciplinary, termination and salary actions. also reviews and approves time sheets for department employees and submits them for payroll processing.
- Coordinates activities which ensure the security of department records, cash, and confidential or sensitive information; this includes issuing authorization codes for computer access, telephones, beepers and cash registers.
- Provides opportunities for the professional development of department staff to promote a knowledge of current trends, and practices in pharmaceutical services and to promote leading edge technology.
- Serves as a liaison with hospital administrators, staff, and other departments to ensure the flow of accurate and timely information, as well as attends meetings and actively participates on committees to ensure departmental representation in the decision-making process.
- Graduate of an accredited school of Pharmacy.
- Master's degree preferred.
- Current licensure as a Pharmacist in the state of Georgia.
- Five years of clinical experience of which three years are in a management role.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification in accordance with the American Heart Association required.
- $73.55-119.12/hr
- The grade and salary of the position are based on specific criteria met within the qualifications of relevant experience, skills, performance and internal equity.
