QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Degree from an accredited school of pharmacy.
  • Successful completion of criminal background check and drug testing as required.
  • Current license in good standing in the state(s) in which to practice.
  • Current and active immunizing pharmacist certification.
  • Complete knowledge of State and Federal laws pertaining to pharmacy practices.
  • Desire to be a motivated caring professional with strong interpersonal skills and ability to communicate effectively with customers, associates, other health care professionals, and the community at large.
  • Willingness to work a flexible schedule consistent with a stimulating retail environment, including nights, weekends, holidays, and geographical locations/districts.
  • Ability to handle multiple priorities and provide direction to associates.
  • High levels of integrity, professionalism, and confidentiality.
  • Authorization to fill Medicare and Medicaid prescriptions.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

1. Process prescriptions accurately or supervise others in the process in accordance with current laws, ethical standards, and Company policies.

2. Provide outstanding customer service and patient counseling in the areas of prescription and OTC medications, durable medical equipment, and other evolving health care needs.

3. Act as a liaison between the store and healthcare professionals, patients, and law enforcement.

4. Comply with State and Federal laws pertaining to pharmacy practices. Adhere to established Company standards of practice.

5. Maintain and ensure confidentiality of patient, associate, and company information.

6. Must be able to meet the physical requirements of the position, with or without reasonable accommodations.

7. Cover shifts during emergency or staffing needs, as required.

8. Promote and participate in initiatives to grow the pharmacy business as required.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

1. Serve as the Pharmacist in Charge (PIC) or Supervising Pharmacist (SP) as required.

2. Responsible for ensuring regulatory compliance with Federal and State pharmacy laws and regulations.

3. Responsible for financial performance of the department including sales growth, maximizing gross margins and productivity, controlling inventory, payroll and expenses.

4. Understanding of and compliance with Company Standard Practices.

5. Promote and participate in growing the pharmacy business through Company initiatives and building relationships within the community.

6. Perform immunizations according to Company’s Standard Practice and expectations.

7. Ensure that all pharmacy department personnel provide outstanding customer service.

8. Responsible for development, training, and management of all pharmacy associates; including technicians and staff/RSP pharmacists.

9. Manage performance and documentation of all department personnel through annual performance assessments and ongoing coaching and disciplinary efforts.

10. Delegation and assignment of tasks dependent on current department needs.

11. Maintain a broad understanding of staffing model.

12. Adhere to Company safety standards. Communicate any needed equipment repairs of maintenance work needed. Keep work area free from debris and safety hazards.

13. Develop and maintain a professional and cooperative working relationship with the Store Leadership, Pharmacy Operations team, and local health care providers.

14. Attend weekly department manager meetings as assigned and share applicable information with pharmacy staff.

15. Relay specific communications between the customer, technicians, and pharmacists to maintain solid communication within the department.

16. Foster a positive and enthusiastic environment to retain associates and customers.

17. Maintain confidentiality of customer, associate, and Company information.

18. Role model and provide recognition for all store associates.

19. Must be able to meet the physical requirements of the position, with or without reasonable accommodations.

20. Share in responsibility for department maintenance and cleanliness by maintaining the quality of department’s appearance and presentation.

21. Always maintain a neat, well-groomed personal appearance and comply with company personal appearance and pharmacy dress code policies.

22. Complete special projects and all other duties as assigned.

23. Ensure that all Company communications are conveyed to all associates and completed daily or as necessary.

24. Review and respond to emails as needed.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

1. Stand 100% of the shift with occasional walking short distances.

2. Use of computer, pharmacy filling equipment and register 90% of time.

3. Use hands to frequently/continuously handle a variety of sizes of containers then manipulate individual pills/capsules and the equipment used to count them.

4. Clerical accuracy skills and mathematical skills including the ability to operate cash register.

5. Ability to use office supplies, communication devices, and computer systems frequently.

6. Frequent/continuous reaching, grasping, lifting, and carrying up to 20 lb. below the waist level and at or above shoulder level.

7. Bend at the knees and waist repetitively throughout the workday.

8. Have sufficient visual acuity and audio capability to process prescriptions and service customers.

Pay: $131,800.00 - $170,600.00 per year
