Qualifications:
- Degree: Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD).
- Licensure: Must have passed the North American Pharmacist Licensure Exam (NAPLEX) and the Multistate Pharmacy Jurisprudence Exam (MPJE) (except California). For California, passing the California Pharmacy Jurisprudence Exam is required.
- Pharmacy License: A current, valid, unrestricted license to practice Pharmacy in one of the U.S. states, territories, or commonwealths.
- Certifications: Applicable certification according to requirements for specialties, i.e., Basic Life Support (BLS), Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS), Advanced Trauma Life Support (ATLS), Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS), Neonatal Advanced Life Support (NALS), etc.
- Experience: Actively practicing in the specialty with a minimum of three (3) years of experience in their respective area.
Responsibilities:
As a Pharmacist/PharmD, you will be responsible for ensuring the safe and effective use of medications. Your responsibilities will include:
- Medication Dispensing: Accurately dispense prescription medications, ensuring compliance with legal and ethical standards.
- Patient Consultation: Provide medication counseling and educate patients on proper medication usage, potential side effects, and drug interactions.
- Clinical Support: Collaborate with healthcare professionals to optimize drug therapy, participate in medical rounds, and provide expertise on pharmaceutical matters.
- Specialty Practice: Depending on the specialty area, actively engage in specialized pharmacy practices such as critical care, pediatrics, or ambulatory care.
- Regulatory Compliance: Stay informed about changes in pharmacy laws and regulations, ensuring adherence to legal requirements in the practice of pharmacy.
- Medication Safety: Implement and maintain systems to enhance medication safety, including monitoring for adverse drug reactions and medication errors.
- Continuous Education: Keep abreast of developments in pharmacology, attend training sessions, and engage in continuous education to stay current with pharmaceutical advancements.
