The Clinical Implementation Pharmacist will be responsible for applying expert knowledge of pharmacy benefits and clinical process, providing strategic clinical direction, using critical thinking to solve complex problems to align with client and program expectations. As the clinical leader, he or she shall collaborate internally and externally to continue to develop, expand and refine PSG's Clinical Implementation services to optimize client delivery and meet marketplace needs. He or she shall preform as a clinical subject matter expert in PBM implementations by supporting clinical program decisions, formulary and benefit requirements, clinical testing expertise and end to end integration activities. Essential Functions
- Collaborate with internal teams to design, develop, and execute PSG's Clinical Implementation strategy and structure through client chosen project management methodology.
- Develop Clinical Implementation and integration strategies for PSG products and services to meet client business needs.
- Remain updated with the latest clinical practices, processes, and techniques to attain best practices in implementing projects. Advise clients, business partners and internal partners in maximizing the effectiveness of PSG products and services.
- Expand and evolve processes, metrics, and tools to deliver repeatable, reliable, and responsive services for our clients.
- Apply knowledge and provide input to senior management to develop policies and procedures that affect departmental operations.
- Provide expertise in cross-functional quality initiatives centered on improving the implementation process.
- Drive ongoing improvement in client satisfaction (NPS) scores for the organization.
- Advise and mentor implementation project managers, analysts, testers, and auditors in clinical best practices related to business requirements, testing, auditing, and overall project implementation.
- In depth knowledge of segment specific regulations, strategies and clinical programs designed for the unique needs of the populations serviced.
- Maintain complete confidentiality of company business.
- Participates with business development in the proposal process to the client by determining their Clinical Implementation requirements.
- Consults and collaborates with clients, business partners, and internal organizations in the development, testing/validation and implementation of PSG products and services.
- Ascertaining client needs through active listening skills, and consultatively works with clients to achieve business objectives.
- Act as a clinical subject matter expert in PBM Implementations by supporting clinical program decisions, formulary and benefit requirements, clinical testing expertise and end to end integration activities.
- Supervise progress of clinical operations, business, product and technical contributors to ensure the on-time, successful delivery of properly scoped clinical requirements.
- Support delegation preassessment of PBM delegated functions during the implementation.
- Ensure future state policies and procedures comply with regulatory and accreditation standards.
Qualifications
- Pharmacy degree (RPh or PharmD) required
- MBA a plus
- Pharmacy benefit management and pharmacy claim system experience
- 5+ years Health Plan, Payor and/or PBM experience
- 5+ years of Account management experience
- Specialty drug management experience strongly preferred
- Medical benefit specialty drug management experience strongly preferred
- Ability to operate and function as part of a team
- Strong communication, and interpersonal skills
- Ability to interface with clients, internal analysts and consultants as well as other health care professionals
- Ability to form and maintain strong client relationships
- Experience in and strong presentation skills desired
- Solutions-oriented, results-driven, self-motivated and innovative in thoughts and actions
- Ability to operate in a decentralized work environment
- Flexible for travel and client-facing activities
- Regulated market experience preferred
- Ability to travel for an estimated 10%
The national average salary for this role is $135 000 to $165 000in base pay and exclusive of any bonuses or benefits. The base pay offered will be determined based on your experience, skills, training, certifications, and education, while also considering internal equity and market data.
