Responsibilities:
- Provide counseling services to individuals, couples, families, and groups
- Conduct assessments and develop treatment plans based on clients' needs
- Facilitate therapy sessions and guide clients in exploring their emotions and behaviors
- Help clients develop coping skills and strategies to manage stress, anxiety, and other mental health issues
- Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to coordinate care for clients
- Maintain accurate and confidential client records
Skills:
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills to establish rapport with clients
- Empathy and compassion to support clients through challenging situations
- Active listening skills to understand clients' concerns and needs
- Knowledge of various therapeutic techniques and interventions
- Ability to adapt counseling approaches based on individual client needs
- Familiarity with ethical guidelines and legal requirements in counseling practice
Please note that this job description is for a general counselor position. While experience or knowledge in animal handling, veterinary, dog training, or pet care may be beneficial in certain counseling settings (such as animal-assisted therapy), it is not a requirement for this particular role.
