No pest control or Wildlife Control experience is required.

Metal working and carpentry skills are an advantage.

We resolve human-wildlife conflict in homes and commercial spaces. We remove nuisance animals and pests from structures that often pose a risk to human health. For motivated individuals this is a fun, challenging, exciting and satisfying career.

JOB DUTIES:

• Inspections - Assessing new customer pest issues in homes. Extreme attention to detail is required to properly identify pests in attics, garages, basements, crawl spaces etc.
• Sales - You will be taught our system for pricing jobs after assessing clients needs and writing detailed proposals.
• Service - Application of pesticides, trapping of mice, squirrels, raccoons and other wildlife. Occasional removal of live animals such as birds, squirrels, bats and snakes. Minor home repairs (pest exclusion) to prevent future pest entry including basic rough carpentry, metal bending, caulking etc.

REQUIREMENTS:

• General knowledge of tools, basic home repair, and comfort working on roofs / ladders is required. If you have no experience with these things (you’ve never walked on a roof, you don’t know what a soffit is, you've never held a drill or caulk gun, etc), this job is not for you. These skills are critical to be successful.
• Must be comfortable working at heights on ladders and roofs and in small spaces such as attics, crawl spaces, and under decks. You must be able to physically access and inspect these spaces safely and efficiently.
• Must be comfortable working in all weather conditions.
• Must be able to lift a minimum of 80lbs above your head (extension ladders, equipment, etc).
• Must have a valid drivers license. A motor vehicle records check will be run.
• Must be able to pass a drug test and background screening.
• Must be able to pass state pesticide applicator licensing exam and maintain license (study materials and guidance will be provided).
• Must be able to work efficiently with a small team and on group projects. Excellent team working skills and communication among co-workers is critical. Every employee plays a meaningful role within the company.

COMPENSATION:

This position receives commission based compensation. For most jobs, technicians receive a percentage of the total sale and a percentage of the service cost. Additional performace bonuses are also offered. Our first year commissioned technician compensation starts at $60k - $80k per year.

Training period is paid a flat weekly rate to be based upon qualifications. Training typically lasts 60-90 days.

Hours worked are Monday through Friday and 1-2 Saturdays a month (during peak season, April - October). Hours are not set, they flex with incoming call volume but appointment windows fall between 8am and 6pm.

Community Pest Solutions is located in Ann Arbor, Washtenaw County, Michigan. We service Washtenaw county and western Wayne County.
