This position is located in the Department of Defense (DoD) Office of Inspector General (DoD OIG), Mission Support Team, Office of Security in Alexandria, VA. Incumbent serves as Personnel Security Specialist for the DoD OIG Personnel Security Program assisting the Personnel Security Program Manager.Qualifications: Applicants must demonstrate that they must meet the specialized experience described below.
Specialized Experience: GS-13 You must have at least 52 weeks of specialized experience at the GS-12 level in the Federal service or at an equivalent level. Specialized experience is defined as: (1) advises on Personnel Security policies and related matters, and on the impact of Personnel Security requirements on organizational missions; (2) controls Personnel Security investigative requirements; (3) advises on procedures to adverse security determinations; and (4) represents the Office of Security in Personnel Security matters internally and externally when required.

Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience.
