Responsibilities:
- Provide in-home care and support to individuals with developmental disabilities
- Assist with activities of daily living, including bathing, dressing, and grooming
- Administer medications and assist with medical treatments as directed by a nurse or healthcare professional
- Monitor and record vital signs, such as blood pressure and temperature
- Prepare and serve meals according to dietary restrictions and individual preferences
- Assist with light housekeeping tasks, such as cleaning and laundry
- Provide companionship and engage in social activities with clients
- Follow care plans and instructions provided by healthcare professionals
Qualifications:
- Previous experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities is preferred
- Knowledge of basic medical procedures, such as taking vital signs and administering medications
- Ability to lift and transfer clients safely, using proper body mechanics and assistive devices if necessary
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively with clients, their families, and healthcare professionals
- First aid certification is a plus
- High school diploma or equivalent
