Job Overview:
The Performance Management Division (PMD) supports the achievement of TDOEs strategic plan by leading the department in developing and implementing project and process plans across all workstreams. Through coaching, capacity building, progress monitoring, and development of cross-team connections, the team supports every division in reaching their goals for students. Specialists develop and maintain relationships with department staff at all levels of the organization and use those relationships to coach project and process owners in effective planning and management of their work. Coaching can be 1-on-1 or in a planned group training session. Specialists also support the logistics of the departments PERFORMANCE MANAGEMENT system, including the organization of regular performance routines and process improvement cycles, and monitoring plans for updates and changes.
Key Responsibilities:
- Planning: Develop planning templates and guidance materials and support the development of high-quality project planning documents. Create procedures to capture and address changes in the original plan.
- Monitoring and Reporting: Monitor and manage project quality to ensure project deliverables are acceptable and fulfill the terms of the project contract or specifications. Provide stakeholders with timely assessments of project performance in writing, orally, and through the creation and maintenance of dashboards.
- Evaluation and Follow-Up: Provide an analysis of various data points related to project planning and completion and formulate recommendations based on trends in the data. Analyze and monitor projects to identify issues, risks, and opportunities for improvement and design strategies to mitigate or avoid future risks.
- Capacity Building: Identify needs, develop tailored coaching and targeted support plans for project owners, and facilitate professional learning opportunities.
- Communication: Serve as a communication channel across the agency and among initiatives. Assess the needs of internal stakeholders and create communication structures to better serve PERFORMANCE MANAGEMENT needs.
Minimum Qualifications:
Graduation from an accredited four-year college or university with major coursework in education, project management, or a relevant field. Advanced degree is preferred. At least five (5) years of experience working in project management. Experience working in an educational context or advanced degree related to education preferred. Experience in coaching team members and leading by influence to achieve results. Highly skilled in Microsoft Office applications and managing the lifecycle of complex technical documents.
