Position Responsibilities:
- Designing and developing LiDAR objection detection, tracking, and classification algorithms
Required Skills and Abilities:
- Deep knowledge and experience with the following:
- LiDAR feature extraction/object detection/tracking/classification (using both classical and deep learning techniques)
- Bayesian state estimation (Kalman filtering, particle filtering) and sensor fusion
- Excellent programming skills in modern C++ and Python
- Experience with delivering well-tested production-quality software in a continuously-integrated environment using test-driven development patterns
- On-bot and ROS experience
- Solid mathematical intuition
- Basic knowledge of underlying sensor physics
Preferred Qualifications:
- 6+ years of Hands-on experience on autonomous vehicles or ground wheel robots, especially those deployed in urban environments.
- Knowledge of state-of-the-art state estimation and tracking algorithms
- Experience with Eigen and PCL/Open3D
- Experience with any open-source deep learning frameworks (PyTorch preferred)
Education and Experience:
- BS, MS, or PhD in computer science, electrical engineering, robotics, or related field, or with equivalent industrial experience
- 4+ years of similar academic and/or professional working experience
