What We Are Looking For: The ideal candidate will play a pivotal role in fostering positive relationships within a multi-site organization. They specialize in handling investigations related to workplace issues such as harassment, hostile work environments, and complaints. With experience working with all levels of management, they navigate complex interpersonal dynamics with tact and professionalism. This specialist also enjoys conducting training sessions and facilitating HR Boot Camps, leveraging their expertise to empower employees and managers with essential skills and knowledge. Their proficiency in customer relations allows them to effectively manage both positive and challenging interactions, ensuring a supportive and respectful work environment for all.
Job Summary: The Employee Relationships Senior Specialist assists in the development and administrates the employee relationship programs and advises managers on the application of employment legislation, EEO and Affirmative Action programs. This position supports the resolution of employee relationship issues to maintain employee engagement and determine the best way forward.
Responsibilities:
- Maintain and uphold the Core Values and Mission Statement of MVP.
- Consult with managers and leaders regarding Team Member related issues, concerns (performance, attendance, conduct).
- Consult with leaders regarding employment decisions for Team Members as appropriate.
- Develop and administrate employee relationship programs, policies, and procedures in compliance with relevant employment laws and regulations.
- Lead in the manager training of MVP policies and procedures by hosting presentations; conducting trainings.
- Facilitate the intake and documentation of employee concerns; gathering facts and details to quickly identify the nature of the concern, assessing the urgency level, and routing cases for appropriate inquiry and resolution.
- Conduct internal investigations related to discrimination, harassment, hostile work environment or other Team Member relations matters.
- Support managers in conducting fact finding related to Team Member conflict, complaints, etc
- Consult and partner with managers, internal Benefits and Leave of Absence teams on complicated leaves and accommodations.
- Support Talent and Perfromance Management Team with Exit Interview process and analysis and other projects as needed.
- Speak with former Team Members and document concerns post termination following up as appropriate.
- Support Team Member Relationships Manager in gathering information related to EEOC and other third-party charges in partnership with legal team.
- Balance assertiveness and cooperation in the management of conflict to obtain “win-win” results.
- Contribute to employee relationship and organization success by welcoming related, different, and new requests; helping others accomplish job results.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.

- Proficient customer service skills and orientation focused on gaining a full understanding of needs, providing quality solutions and follow-up as needed.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions or approaches to problems.
- Ability to comprehend, interpret and apply the appropriate sections of applicable laws, guidelines, regulations and policies.
- Advanced knowledge of employment laws, EEO and ADA requirements.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
Required Education and Experience:
- Bachelor's degree, preferably in Business or Human Resource Management or related field.
- Minimum of 5 years’ progressive human-resources related administration experience.
- SPHR/PHR or SHRM certification preferred.
Physical Requirements:
- Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
- Vision adequate to perform essential duties and responsibilities of position.
- Ability to lift minimum of 2 pounds to a maximum of 20 pounds unassisted; able to sit stand, stoop, walk, stretch, reach frequently; moderate range of body motions.
- Ability to hear and interact by phone and in person clearly and efficiently and to make presentations. Ability to use computer and all peripherals efficiently.
