Position: People and Culture Intern - Summer 2024

Compensation: Paid Internship (hourly rates will start at $20/hour)

About People and Culture:
The People and Culture team (P&C) is responsible for the Foundation's strategic efforts to design, implement and manage innovative human resources practices and initiatives that attract, develop, engage, support and retain an energized, high-performing, diverse staff in a culture of continuous learning and improvement. The summer intern will mainly provide project support to Learning and Development (L&D) and Benefits while also gaining exposure to the broader People & Culture function.
General Summary of Internship:
- Support maintenance of the L&D and Benefits pages on the MacArthur intranet (the Hub)
- Catalog Foundation newsletters and other materials to increase ease of access and visibility on the Hub for People and Culture news items and benefits documentation
- Streamline staff access to video content within our L&D platform
- Support in data maintenance with our records in Workday
- Conduct employee file audits while adhering to the legal requirements pertaining to document retention
- Assist with drafting and sending correspondence to retirees
- Be a thought partner with special projects around staff engagement and wellness
- Assist in creative special projects using different technology platforms
- Other projects and duties as assigned
Qualifications:
- Currently enrolled in an undergraduate or graduate program of study
- Demonstrated interest in Human Resources
- Proficiency with Word, PowerPoint, and Excel required
- Strong written and oral communication skills
- Outstanding organizational abilities, and attention to detail are essential
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and ability to manage multiple projects
- Research skills, event planning, and social media experience are a plus
This internship is based in Chicago, Illinois. Our work environment is hybrid with designated in-office days and virtual days. Interns will be required to reside in the Chicagoland area for the duration of the program.
