Spero Health is seeking a Peer Support Specialist to join our awesome team in Indiana!
This position is for a Peer Support Specialist who supports the mission of "Saving Lives, Instilling Hope and Restoring Relationships" in an integrated team with patients receiving counseling, case management and medically assisted treatment. *This position will support several of our Indiana clinics remotely**
The Peer Support Specialist's responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following:
- Provide recovery education to patients for every phase of treatment.
- Provide a model for both people in recovery and teammates by demonstrating that recovery is possible.
- Assist patients in identifying their personal interests, goals, strengths, and weaknesses regarding recovery.
- Provide coaching to patients to develop their own plan for advancing their recovery.
- Support connections to community based, mutual self-help groups.
- Guide patient toward the identification and achievement of specific goals defined by the patient and specified in the Treatment Plan.
- Participate in the Clinical Review process and team meetings as appropriate
- Promote socialization, recovery, self-advocacy preservation, and enhancement of community living skills for patients.
- Use your experience to assist patients in finding THEIR voice and not echoing yours
- Documentation, evaluation, and achieving outcomes
- Knowledge and practice of ethical boundaries
Requirements
Education:
- High school graduate or GED
Experience:
- Must have a history of Substance Abuse Diagnosis and Treatment
- Ability to demonstrate two years of recovery involvement.
- License: Valid driver's license, reliable transportation, and proof of current auto insurance
Certification:
- Must have credential Indiana Certified Recovery Specialist
