Working Hours/Shift:
Tuesday - Saturday, AM shift

What you bring to SBHG (qualifications):
- High School diploma or equivalent, preferred, plus personal experience as a consumer, in the child welfare, probation, or mental health systems.
- Valid California Driver's License preferred
How you will make a difference (job overview):
The position has primary responsibility for using their lived experience and knowledge of the system to provide outreach and engagement, support, and advocacy to Transition Age Youth (TAY) and Young Adults (YA) engaged in the Crisis Residential Program. Peer Support Counselors will support participants' movement toward recovery, and in pursuing meaningful roles in their lives, separate from their illness.
Division/Program Overview:
- 24/7 voluntary residential setting specifically for Transitional Age Youth (TAY) at risk and need a higher level of care, but lower than a psychiatric hospital.
- Facility equipped to serve up to 15 Youth.
- Provides mental health services that include individual therapy, group rehabilitation, medication management, and case management.
- Incorporates the tenets of recovery, Peer Support, and identifying community connections.
- Connects individuals to educational and vocational services and initiating the process of locating housing.
