TITLE: Peer Services Manager
JOB STATUS: Full-time (40 hours per week); exempt
PAY RANGE: $72,000 -$75,000 Annually

MHASF is a mental health peer-run nonprofit in downtown San Francisco that has been serving people and agencies across the Bay Area since 1947. As mental health consumers, we center the lived expertise of people with mental health challenges in our advocacy, education, and support programs. OVERVIEW OF PROGRAM & POSITION:
In close collaboration with the Director of Peer Services, the Peer Services Manager is responsible for the management, development, and coordination of our community-based 1:1 peer-support, group support, and field-based services with ZSF General Hospital and the San Francisco AIDS Foundation. In addition, this position manages our CARE Court and Inn on Folsom projects. The Peer Services Manager brings programmatic innovation to the position and is instrumental in maintaining and developing community partnerships. This position supervises 6 PSS, which includes weekly 1:1 supervision and bi-monthly group supervision.
TOP 3 RESPONSIBLITIES
1. Direct supervision of ZSF General, SF AIDS Foundation, CARE Court, and Inn on Folsom Peer Support Specialists (PSS)
2. Management of program contracts, including program reports and ensuring contract deliverables are met
3. Management of program's 1:1 peer support and group support services; provides consult to PSS for program participants with complex needs
RESPONSIBLITIES:
- Direct management and supervision of PSS serving four distinct partnerships-ZSF General, SF AIDS Foundation, CARE Court, and Inn on Folsom
- Conduct outreach and give community presentations for these programs to non-profit partners, city departments, and community groups
- Continuous quality improvement and evaluation of programs and program policies on an ongoing basis
- Develop and maintain strong working relationships with agency partners, consumer advocates, and other community organizations
- In coordination with management team design, implement, and develop ongoing and new programs including initiatives and other community partnerships
- Support program staff to organize people with lived experience of mental illness to serve as trainers and to integrate individuals living with mental illness into trainings
- In coordination with the Outreach & Marketing Department, develop marketing and outreach strategies and content for the programs
- Manage program deadlines and project timelines with primary accountability
- Assemble data on results, submit monthly internal reports, and write reports to funders
- Timely development and submission of program's mid-year and annual reports
- Ability to travel to local and regional training sites and meetings
- Other duties as assigned by Director of Peer Services
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Personal lived experience with mental health challenges and a willingness to disclose to participants relevant personal experiences related to living in recovery
- Minimum of 3 years' progressive program management and supervisory roles, ideally in a nonprofit social services environment
- Bachelor's degree in a related field, or equivalent work experience and demonstrated competency as would be gained through degree completion
- Excellent written skills and public speaking skills
- Experience coordinating projects, events and trainings
- Experience supporting community-based programs and/or projects
- Deep familiarity with mental health recovery resources and programs and the San Francisco non-profit community
- Good understanding of mental illness diagnoses, symptoms, and impact of stigma on consumers
- Excellent understanding of collecting behaviors
- Commitment to consumer empowerment, culturally competent services, and nonjudgmental approach
- Highly organized and resourceful, excellent attention to detail, ability to multi-task and manage time well to accomplish all key tasks and deadlines
- Excellent computer skills including internet, Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
- Collaborative team working style with ability to relate effectively with people from diverse backgrounds
- Commitment to the mission, vision and values of MHASF
- Experience taking initiative to self-educate about unfamiliar subjects or concepts
DESIREABLE QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bilingual in one of the five threshold languages
- Experience with City contract management and reporting
- Experience in conducting community-based presentations
