Job Summary and Qualifications

Our PBX/Switchboard Operator will work under the supervision of the communications leadership team and will ensure that all incoming calls are promptly answered and that assistance is provided for placing out-going calls.

• You will respond to the code phone, code computer or wall panel alarms which takes priority over any calls except the fire alarm and will make sure that appropriate personnel are notified.
• You will page the appropriate personnel using a web based paging system and switchboard.
• You will places long distance and “Watts Line” calls for various departments and physician offices.
• You will assist patients by advising how to place local and long distance calls.
• You will answers patient information calls whenever necessary.
• You will be responsible for documenting vital information to assist supervisor in maintaining current files with the daily PBX operations.
• You will overhead page appropriate personnel as needed.
• You will perform other related duties incidental to the work described herein.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Secretarial experience - required
