Job Description

Payroll Tax Specialist (2023-2958) job in Remote

Location: Remote

Role Type: Payroll

The Payroll Tax Specialist has a key role in the Prolink Payroll team. This is responsible for processing, auditing, and reporting on Payroll Tax for Prolink internal employees and external talent. The Payroll Tax Specialist may also serve as a subject matter expert and provide research on special projects related to Payroll Tax processes.

Role & Responsibilities

Tax Process

+ Reconcile Payroll Tax reporting after each pay run to ensure accurate filings by tax service provider

+ Apply for and maintain Tax ID for new tax jurisdictions

+ Maintain SUI Rates in both Workday and ADP

+ Monitor quarterly tax filings

+ Prepare headcount tax forms when requested

+ Reconcile Payroll Taxes from ADP to Workday journals

+ Reconcile cash activity to Payroll and ADP Tax Services reports

+ Maintain CIC+, ADP Smart Compliance and Workday tax record accuracy

+ Audit tax reports within Workday, ADP Smart Compliance and CIC + for accuracy

+ Process W-2 corrections and post W-2Cs to Workday

Communication & Collaboration

+ Special projects and research

+ Research and reconciliation of Payroll Taxes from prior periods

+ Assist Payroll Specialist and Talent on tax related payroll questions

Minimum Position Qualifications / Education

+ 2 years of experience in Payroll Tax administration

+ Works under general supervision; resolves routine questions alone and complex questions with supervision. Work is based on established procedures and protocols

+ Experience with wage and tax adjustments

+ Responsible for making some decisions which require consideration of various criteria

+ Requires business writing skills to respond to standard inquiries

+ Requires excellent interpersonal communication skills and the ability to deal with sensitive employment issues

+ Experience working in a team environment

+ Normal working conditions which require normal to close concentration, visual attention, and manualdexterity

+ Ensures outstanding customer service for all employees

+ Requires ability to use a variety of business or technical programs (spreadsheets, databases) tocomplete tasks

+ Candidates must possess the following characteristics and traits; leadership, motivation, detailoriented, integrity and perseverance

Preferred Qualifications / Experience

+ Associate degree in business, human resources, accounting or relevant field or equivalentcombination of experience and education

+ Experience with Workday and/or ADP Smart Compliance

+ CPP or FPC Certification
