David Weekley Homes is seeking an experienced Payroll Specialist to join our team. This person is responsible for all aspects of payroll for the organization. An ideal candidate has in-depth experience with payroll and is an enthusiastic team player with a strong commitment to customer service.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Processes paychecks including manual checks, direct deposits (ACH) and voids and distributes paychecks
- Create and write reports using Cognos Business Intelligence for the Human Resources team and others, as requested
- Handles Team Member timesheets
- Helps process year-end W-2’s
- Runs & distributes Payroll reports
- Responds to Unemployment Claims
- Archives payroll info (paper & electronic)
- Processes, balances and submits garnishments & child support payment
- Processes online direct deposits & address changes, PTO/VAC (Paid Time Off/Vacation) requests and updates Team Members’ 6 month vacation balances
- Fields PTO/VAC questions from Team Members and handles complicated payroll issues
Skills & Experience:
- Experience using UltiPro, Cognos and JD Edwards is a plus.
- Prior experience writing payroll reports in software such as Cognos
- Experience with payroll software required. Able to learn new software quickly
- Highly proficient in Excel; proficient in all other MS Office software
- 4 or more years processing payroll. Familiar with processing 941 and 940 forms, State Income Tax, and Unemployment Tax.

- Should exhibit strong initiative and be a self-starter, as well as being flexible and highly responsive to Team Members
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Must have tact and diplomacy
- Must have flexibility to work over forty hours per week as needed
