Summary:
The Payroll Projects Analyst acts as the backbone support to the payroll processors. Duties include auditing, analytical research, and testing payroll via parallel testing using multiple reports out of several different systems. In addition to testing, analyzing and fixing payroll errors in real time for payroll to process timely and accurately. Implementing process and/or system improvements, provides technical systems support, coordinates use of new reporting tools, training aids, research tools, etc. This role establishes consistent training programs for all payroll functions, records, and documents all department processes (systems, pay rules, tax setups, year-end, etc.). Works with sensitive and/or confidential information.
Essential Functions:
- Ability to analyze and audit complex data using multiple reports out of multiple systems.
- Ability to perform parallel testing between different systems.
- Develops and/or approves design specification and configures payroll data.
- Audits, validates, and reconciles results of payroll and/or timekeeping system conversions, upgrades and enhancements.
- Contributes technical and analytical skills to identify opportunities to streamline and automate existing processes within the department.
- Leads and instructs payroll processing staff, field staff, and development of payroll time and attendance policies and procedures.
- Design and development of complicated ad-hoc reports to meet the needs of facilities, departments, management and regulatory agencies.
- Facilitates development and presentation of training materials designed to further knowledge of payroll systems, taxes, regulatory issues, and other payroll related practices.
Qualifications
Education:
- High school diploma required
Experience:
- 1-2 years of experience that includes Payroll, payroll processing, payroll taxes, running ad hoc reports and analyzing data required
